Corporate Boot Camp Courses
We are a leading provider of bespoke boot camp style courses working with clients to achieve specific company objectives.
Scottish Boot Camp strongly believes that by investing in emerging leaders, organisations will be better prepared to weather the current economic downturn and be better positioned to succeed in the future. To address the tough professional challenges that executives now face, Scottish Boot Camp has pioneered an equally tough physical and emotionally engaging programme designed to develop individual strengths and personal style.
Leadership Development is defined by improving the skills of persuasion, motivation, resilience and inspiration through experiential learning. Our aim is for delegates to understand the power of behaviour to influence others, the importance of creating impact, and to understand and manage group dynamics within a team. This encompasses issues such as handling specific situations with difficult people, recognising the importance of working as a team, resolving conflict and completing challenges together, the development of individual and group responsibility and the ability to delegate effectively.
We aim to bring out the very best in people and all our activities are achievable by every participant. Our varied programme of activities takes people outside their usual physical limits – requiring them to find previously untapped emotional and physical depths (‘dig deep’)! as great leadership capability may make the vital difference between success and failure in a critical business situation.
Our programmes are based upon military style physically challenging outdoor (and to a lesser degree indoor) activities. These comprise a broad range of both individual and team challenges with an objective designed to develop both personal strengths and leadership skills, to achieve greater confidence and organisational performance. At all times we seek to instil the importance of working as part of a team and completing the challenges together. The varied programme includes both physically and mentally stimulating tasks such as assault courses, cross-terrain orienteering, team games and challenges, unarmed combat, interval training, circuits and much more.
All participants are fitness tested on arrival, and complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire so that we are aware of any underlying conditions and adapt the activities accordingly. We believe that having fun whilst learning is an essential part of a successful outcome, and our PTIs (physical training instructors) are also known to smile on occasion!
Achievement and performance during the activities are reviewed in group discussions to identify behaviours that enhance performance or lead to failure or decreased performance. Additionally, during ‘down time’ in the evening, the more relaxed process of developing leadership skills will be promoted with more cerebral and “fun” activities such as team quiz competitions.
As an additional element to our leadership training and team building courses we aim to incorporate a highly inspirational speaker for an evening keynote talk. The sentiments expressed will reinforce the themes developed during the instructor- led daytime training.
Location and Accommodation
The course will be delivered in the preferred location as specified by the client company. Our choices of accommodation are usually fully inclusive of meals/tea/coffee etc, and they have been chosen for their suitability for outdoor based programme, having easy access to acres of varied terrain. The event is inevitably enhanced by being based in a comfortable centre.
All the above elements will be fully detailed in a course programme which will be available subject to confirmation by the client. The price of a bespoke course is confirmed upon acceptance of a proposal by Scottish Boot Camp, and the details finalised.
Scottish Boot Camp offers an authentic ‘boot camp’ experience with highly qualified and motivational instructors, with a proven track record of getting the very best out of all participants, regardless of age, background or fitness level.
“It has been a very worthwhile week where a group from all ages and backgrounds has come together to get through a tough week (both physically and mentally). The PTIs provided a constant stream of activities concentrating on rewarding individual effort rather than judging physical appearance!! Their knowledge and advice has been unfaltering throughout the week, always pulling out the best in each and every one of us... The behind the scenes effort from Sara and Al has also been great, allowing a seamless and hassle free running of the week. I could offer 3 bits of advice to fellow/future participants:
- Wear the oldest kit you’ve got – it’ll get trashed!
- Don’t worry about being the most unfit person there – everyone is there for a reason.
- Most of all – go out there, get through it and REAP THE BENEFITS. Enjoy!”
